Optimal Animal Health and Performance
Dr. Alice is a North Carolina native, but is proud to call Northern Colorado her home. Dr. Alice grew up in the mountains of North Carolina on a small farm and always wanted to become a veterinarian. During her undergraduate career at Warren Wilson College near Asheville, NC, she studied sustainable agriculture and began to prepare herself for a life as a rural veterinarian. She focused on equine and ruminant studies during veterinary school at North Carolina State University and started her career at a large animal hospital in Apex, NC. As a veterinarian, she very quickly realized that she wasn't able to help many of her performance patients recover from injury with the training she had received, so being a health and fitness enthusiast herself and wanting to help her patients reach their highest possible level of health and performance, Dr. Alice began pursuing integrative/alternative medicine as well as sports medicine and rehabilitation techniques to discover new ways to further enrich the lives of her patients and the happiness of their humans.
Dr. Alice is on faculty for the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and helps teach other veterinarians in the Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation course. Dr. Alice is also on faculty at the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute and is a primary instructor for the Veterinary Medical Manipulation (similar to chiropractic) course. Dr. Alice is currently pursuing her Masters in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine and she is also pursuing board certification by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation.
When Dr. Alice is not working hard to improve the health and performance of her patients, you will find her competing in herding events with her Border Collies and Kelpie, riding her horses, rock climbing with her husband, running, and practicing yoga. Dr. Alice and her husband Travis, who is studying veterinary pathology at CSU, live on a small farm near Wellington, CO where Dr. Alice can still play farm vet (in her spare time) on all of their critters.
